Beautiful medieval eating knife with decorated brass handle inscribed with ‘Be Merie’ on one face and ‘Domine’ (Our Lord) on the other. Both motifs were common. These were taken from a 14thC knife but these brass handled knives were popular from 13th through to the 16thC
